Raise the needle to its highest position, and then turn the pattern selection dial to
select stitch number 10 or 15.
Note: Select pattern No.10 when sewing thin fabric.
Set the stitch length dial between "1" and "4".
Zigzag sewing foot
Overcasting foot
The overcasting foot is only
included with model XXX34.
• When using the zigzag sewing foot

Position the fabric so that the
needle extends slightly off the
edge of the fabric when the
needle moves to the right.
• When using the overcasting foot

Attach the overcasting foot.
(Refer to "Changing the presser
foot" on page 23.)
Sew with the edge of the fabric
against the guide on the foot.
Caution

This is a sewing method that prevents unraveling at the
edge of the fabric.
Before changing the presser foot, remove the
power plug from the outlet.
Not doing so could cause an injury.
Right needle entry point
Do not use stitch number 10.
Doing so may cause the needle to
hit the presser foot and break or
cause injuries.
