Configuring BFD for BGP

Network requirements
Switch A and Switch B are interconnected through a Layer 2 switch. BFD is enabled on the
connected interfaces. BGP is enabled on the switches that are reachable to each other at the
network layer.
When the link between Switch A and Switch B fails, BFD can quickly detect the failure and notify
BGP of the failure.

Configuration procedure
1)
Configure VLAN interfaces.
# Configure Switch A.
<SwitchA> system-view
[SwitchA] interface Vlan-interface 10
[SwitchA-Vlan-interface10]ip address 10.1.0.102 24
[SwitchA-Vlan-interface10] quit
# Configure Switch B.
<SwitchB> system-view
[SwitchB] interface Vlan-interface 10
[SwitchB-Vlan-interface10] ip address 10.1.0.100 24
[SwitchB-Vlan-interface10] quit

Configure BGP basic functions.
# Configure Switch A.
[SwitchA] bgp 100
