Category 5 (or higher) shielded cabling with a drain wire must be used on all
Ethernet connections and must be connected to the AC ground of the PoE.
We recommend that you protect your networks from harmful outdoor
environments and electrostatic discharge phenomena with Ubiquiti's
Industrial Grade Shielded Ethernet Cable. For more details, visit:
Surge protection must be used on all outdoor installations. We recommend
that you use two surge protectors (model ETH-SP-G2), one near the N-SW
and the other at the entry point of the building. The ETH-SP-G2 will absorb
surge voltages and safely discharge them to the ground.
