Troubleshooting
PROBLEM
Engine won't start.
Engine starts, then shuts
down.
Engine will not start; or
starts and runs rough.*
No AC output.
Engine starts and shuts
off right away.
* Engine speed increases and decreases — This is normal as generator starts up and loads vary.

CAUSE
1. Emergency Stop Switch is
turned off.
2. Out of fuel.
3. Defective spark plug.
4. Plugged fuel filter.
5. Fuel Selector Knob is turned
off.
6. Incorrect engine oil level.
7. Defective ignition coil.
8. Carburetor is flooded.
9. Throttle plate closed.
1. Out of fuel.
2. Incorrect engine oil level.
3. Contaminated fuel.
4. Defective low oil level switch.
1. Dirty or clogged air filter.
2. Defective or dirty spark plug.
3. Dirty fuel filter.
4. Dirty or gummed up carburet-
tor.
5. Spark arrestor clogged.
1. Generator is overloaded.
2. Inverter module is overheated.
3. Short circuit in electrical
device.
4. Defective inverter assembly.
5. NEMA 5-20 GFCI may be
tripped.
1. CO PROTECT shut-off due to
accumulating carbon monox-
ide if a RED light blinks on the
side panel badge.
2. CO PROTECT shut-off due to
a system fault if a YELLOW
light blinks on the side panel
badge.
3. Contaminated fuel.
4. Defective low oil level switch.
CORRECTION
1. Turn Emergency Stop Switch
to ON.
2. Fill fuel tank.
3. Replace spark plug.
4. Replace fuel and fuel filter.
5. Turn Fuel Selector Knob to
desired fuel source.
6. Check/fill engine oil.
7. Contact IASD.
8. Drain carburetor.
9. Open throttle plate (push
toward back of unit).
1. Fill fuel tank or replace LP
tank.
2. Check engine oil level.
3. Contact IASD.
4. Contact IASD.
1. Clean or replace air filter.
2. Replace spark plug.
3. Replace fuel and fuel filter.
4. Clean carburetor.
5. Clean spark arrestor.
1. Disconnect all loads. Shut
down generator to reset mod-
ule. Reduce loads, restart
generator.
2. Verify service door is ON. Let
cool 15 minutes by running
engine without AC output.
Start generator.
3. Verify condition of extension
cords and items being pow-
ered.
4. Contact IASD.
5. Inspect and correct Ground
Fault, then reset GFCI outlet.
1. Follow all Safety Instructions
and relocate generator to an
open area outside, far away
from windows, doors and
vents.
2. Start to confirm YELLOW light
blinks when/if generator shuts-
off. If CO PROTECT continues
to fault and shut-off, contact
IASD.
3. Contact IASD.
4. Contact IASD.
