Page 6: Installation
Installation Install the remineralization system in the desired location in the water treatment system. Typically this would be the last step, after a reverse osmosis system ideally. The caps are marked "IN" and OUT" on the top of the housings. For the single remineralization system, mount the housing to the bracket using the supplied screws, orienting the housing to match the applications desired flow direc- tion. - Page 7 Install the supplied threaded bushings in the inlet and outlet ports. Be sure to use Teflon tape on the fittings. Tighten them with channel locks, taking care not to crack the housings. Install the 1/2" QC x 1/2" MIP connectors into the previously installed bushings. Be sure to use Teflon tape on the fittings.
- Page 8 Cut two (2) pieces of tubing approximately 4" each from the supplied tubing. Install a piece each into the inlet and outlet QC ports. Install the 1/2" QC ball valve onto the now hanging tubing on the inlet side. Repeat this with a second ball valve and the outlet side.
- Page 9 Cut an additional two (2) pieces of tubing approximately 4" long each from the supplied tubing. Install a piece each into the open ports on each ball valve. Install the 1/2" QC union tee on the tubing hanging from the ball valve on the inlet side.
- Page 10 10. Insert the 1/2" Stem x 1/2" QC elbow into the offset port on the inlet tee. Push it down all the way. Lightly tug on it to ensure that it is secured in the tee. Repeat this process with the outlet tee. 11.
- Page 11 13. Install the 1/2" QC union tee onto the tubing hanging from the outlet side. Orient the tee so that the offset port is still available. 14. Cut a 2" piece of tubing from the supplied tubing and install it into the offset port on the previously installed union tee.
- Page 12 17. Remove the sump from the filter housing and install the filter. A very small amount of silicone grease or water can be used to lubricate the O-rings on the filter. The filter housing cap has a coupling that will accept the o-ringed nipple on top of the filter. Install the filter so the nipple on the top is fully seated in the filter housing cap.
- Page 13 18. Lubricate the O-ring on the filter housing sump and install it. Tighten the filter sump hand tight. That should be adequate. Do not use abrasive tools to tighten the hous- ing or damage may occur. NOTE: Adding a little bit of lubricant/silicone to the sump threads will make the sump easier to remove when replacing the filter.

Filter Startup Instructions Shut off the water supply that will be feeding the remineralization system. Release the water pressure by opening a faucet or spigot downstream of the system and allowing the water to run. Once there is no water flowing, close the faucet or spigot and connect the open port on the inlet side of the remineralization system to the treatment system preceding it. -

Filter Cartridge Replacement Instructions Shut off the water supply Open the faucet or spigot closest to the filter housing and allow all the water to empty from the plumbing systems WARNING! If the pressure is not released, the filter sump will be very difficult to get loose. - Page 16 Lubricate the O-Ring for the sump and the sump threads with food grade silicone grease. Install the filter sump in the filter cap by turning it counter-clockwise until it is hand tight. Turn on the water supply and open a spigot downstream of the filter to release the air.
