Basic Scanning for PC Users
This tutorial demonstrates how to capture images of reflective materials using the ScanWizard-One
software on Windows. For instructions on scanning transparent materials or capturing images using
ScanPotter on macOS, please refer to the scanner's user manual.
1. Refer to the previous "Positioning Reflective Material" section to place the material to be
scanned on the scanner glass surface.
2. Launch ScanWizard-One by double-clicking the program icon on the desktop.
3. Click the "Scan Settings" button (
4. Specify the basic scan parameters as needed:
a)
Select "Reflective" in the Material drop-down list.
b)
Select the color type of the image output in the Type drop-down list.
c)
Specify the desired scanning resolution in the Resolution drop-down list.
5. Click on the "Show Preview Window" and "Show Settings Window" tabs on the right side of
the interface to display hidden working windows.
6. Click on the "Preview" button to perform an initial preview scan of the original and display the
preview image in the Preview area.
7. Select the "Frame" tool (
dragging a rectangle around it. You will see a flashing frame (marquee) around the selected area.
8. If necessary, adjust the overall brightness and contrast of the image, and set the gamma value.
9. If necessary, go to the "Scanner Settings" panel to configure the scanner's features.
a)
Select one of the Lamp Settings option.
b)
Select an image quality mode in the Scan Quality drop-down list.
c)
Adjust the exposure setting within the range of the preset values.
d)
Select the number of times the same row of pixels will be read (sampling count) in the
Multiple Sampling drop-down list.
10. Click on the "Scan" button to start the scanning process with the parameters you have set in
the Scan Settings interface.
When done, the scanned image (RAW image file) is automatically stored in the system default
folder or a specified folder and displayed as a thumbnail in the Thumbnail area, and can be
viewed and post-processed in the Image area. The image is also exported and archived directly
with the file attributes defined in the Export settings.
11. Finally, close the Scan Settings interface.
An Exported File List window appears on the screen, displaying the number of images that have
been scanned and exported, and the correspondence between the original and exported image
files. You can open the folder where the exported images are stored from this window, or click
"Close" to close the window.
