Installing the Transparent Media Adapter (TMA)
If you have purchased the ScanMaker 9830XL scanner without the TMA1630 Transparency Media
Adapter, please skip this page of instructions.
Unlocking the TMA
1. Remove the yellow "Unlock" sticker
from the TMA.
2. Look for the locking knob at the base of
the TMA.
3. Turn the locking knob counterclockwise
to the unlock position "
NOTE: To lock the TMA (for shipping and other
reasons), please refer to the scanner's user manual
available on the Microtek website.
Installing the TMA
1. Check to make sure that the scanner
power is switched off.
2. Remove the scanner lid, then attach
the TMA by sliding the posts at the
rear of the TMA into the holes.
3. Plug the connector of the TMA into
the scanner's 15-pin accessory port
at the back of the scanner, and
securely fasten the screws.
4. Turn on the scanner by switching
the Power switch to the "I" position,
and wait for the green LED light to
stop blinking and stay on steady.
The system will detect your scanner
automatically.
Now the scanner and TMA are ready
for use.
