For Mac Users Using ScanPotter
This scenario explains how to scan photos and films using ScanPotter v3.0 or
later versions on macOS.
1. Place your materials:
• To scan reflective materials: Place the reflective materials (such as
photographs or prints) to be scanned face down on the scanner glass
surface, as detailed in the "Positioning Reflective Materials" section of
the manual.
• To scan transparent materials: Place the transparent materials (such as
slides, positive or negative films) on the scanner glass surface together
with the corresponding film template, as detailed in the "Positioning
Transparent Materials" section of the manual.
2. Launch ScanPotter:
Open "Finder" on your Mac and navigate to "Applications" in the sidebar.
Locate and double-click the "ScanPotter" icon to launch the application.
After launching, you'll find the ScanPotter menu at the top left corner of
your desktop.
3. Select the scan material type:
From the "Scan Source" options menu, select "Reflective" for photographs
and prints, "Negative" for negative films, or "Positive" for slides and
transparencies.
4. Specify scanning settings in the Scan Settings column as required:
a) Choose the image color type from the "Color Type" options menu for
image output.
b) Specify the desired scanning resolution from the "Resolution" options
menu.
5. Click the "Preview" button to perform a preliminary scan of your original.
When done, the preview image appears in the preview area.
6. If necessary, adjust the scan frame size by dragging any corner or edge of
the scan frame (enclosed by dotted lines) to choose the area to be scanned.
7. If necessary, enhance and adjust the image quality by using the image
correction tools offered in the Image Settings column.
8. If necessary, specify file settings for your output images by using the options
offered in the File Saving Settings column.
