Enhanced Printer Driver Usability
Starting with the driver for LUCIA EX models, the printer driver has settings
on the Main tab, to improve usability when imagePROGRAF printers are
used in workflows based on ICC profiles (as when Adobe Photoshop is
used). On the Main tab sheet of the printer driver, "No Color Correction" is
now available under the color mode. If "No Color Correction" is selected on
this screen, the Matching sheet is not displayed on the Color Settings
screen.
In the driver, either Monochrome (Photo) or Monochrome is displayed,
depending on the type of media used. Because the modes are not
displayed together, users can print without confusion, using the optimal
monochrome mode for the type of media.
• Printing with Monochrome (Photo): Coated paper, photo paper,
proofing paper, and art paper
• Printing with Monochrome: Paper other than those listed above
• Included ICC profiles covering a wider range of media.
To improve compatibility with ICC-based workflows, ICC profiles are
available for Canon standard paper for photography and proofing.
Additionally, mapping precision is higher, in conjunction with color
conversion, based on new image processing technology for better
gradation. As a result, higher-precision ICC profile-based workflows are
available.
