G-660C & G-880C GRADALL (Crawler)
1.
Rough, slam-bang operation over rocky ground or
obstacles smashes the weight of the machine back and
forth from one roller to another. This is one of the
quickest ways to shorten roller life and bend shoes. A
little common sense and consideration for the
machine cuts maintenance costs.
2.
Make daily inspections of your equipment. Check for
loose bolts, leaky seals and abnormal wear. Report all
items that need attention to the maintenance man so
that needed adjustments can be made before serious
damage occurs.
Plan your work so that your turns to right or left are
5.
as even as possible. Constant turning in one direction
will wear one track faster than the other. Either
change the work pattern occasionally or have the
tracks switched to balance the wear.
HOW TO GET MORE LIFE OUT OF YOUR
UNDERCARRIAGE
As a crawler mounted Gradall Hydraulic Excavator
works, the parts are wearing. We hope that the
information which we provide regarding operation and
preventive maintenance will be followed and that long
and trouble-free crawler life will result.
3.
Never park a machine overnight on the side of a hill
or angle. This puts a strain on roller seals and oil may
leak out (and it's unsafe too}. Next morning, it'll take
time before the rubber rings return to the correct
shape. In the meantime, even more oil can be lost.
Rollers hold less than a pint of oil. Without it, the
internal parts of a roller will be destroyed within
hours.
Travel in the forward position whenever possible.
4.
Traveling in reverse causes more wear to the sprocket
and chain.
Always utilize power to both tracks when turning by
applying hydraulic motor power to both tracks at the
same time. If you use power to one track only, you will
be dragging the opposite track assembly or trying to
overpower the "locked" track.
