G-660C & G-880C GRADALL (Crawler)
OPERATION & MAINTENANCE
2 SPEED CRAWLER DRIVE
The Gradall operator has an option of either speed
or power when using the crawler drive. Two foot
buttons are located on the cab floor to the left of the
seat area. By pressing down on the right button he
obtains a high speed mode. Pressing down on the
left button gives him maximum tractive power.
The two-speed selector valve receives its oil from the
pilot control manifold.
POWER/Low Speed
When the left button on the two-speed selector valve
is depressed, it opens the valve to dump, allowing
control oil to be exhausted from the speed control
portion of the piston type drive motors in each of the
crawler side frames. The swash plate in the motor
assembly shifts to give the maximum power
advantage.
HIGH SPEED/Low Torque
When the right hand button on the two-speed selector
valve is depressed, pilot oil is routed down thru the
centerpin to the speed control piston in the drive
motor assembly. The piston moves and shifts the
swash plate in the motor to a position whereby
maximum speed is obtained.
