BEFORE CARRYING OUT THE FOL-
LOWING OPERATIONS AND IN OR-
DER TO AVOID BURNS, LEAVE EN-
GINE AND MUFFLER TO COOL OFF
TO AMBIENT TEMPERATURE.
Remove the spark plug «4»
hood «3».
Remove any mark of dirt from
the spark plug base; therefore,
unscrew it with the wrench sup-
plied with the tool kit and pull it
out from its seat, being careful
not to let dust or other substan-
ces into the cylinder.
Check that spark plug electrode
and central porcelain insulator
do not have carbon deposits or
corrosion; if necessary, clean it
with an appropriate spark plug
cleaner and an iron wire and/or
metal brush.
Blow energetically with a blast of
air so that no removed deposit
gets into the engine. The spark
plug should be replaced if it
shows cracks on the insulator,
corroded electrodes or undue
deposits.
Check the gap between electro-
des with a thickness gauge. The

Verwijder de pipet «3» van de
bougie «4».
Verwijder al het vuil van de basis
van de bougie, draai ze los met
de in de gereedschapskit bijge-
leverde sleutel, en verwijder ze
van de zit, door op te letten om
geen stof of andere stoffen in de
cilinder te laten komen.
Controleer of de elektrode en
het centrale porcelein van de
bougie geen koolstofafzettingen
of corrosietekens vertonen, en
reinig ze eventueel met speciale
reinigers voor bougies, met een
ijzerdraad en/of metalen borstel.
Reinig goed met een luchtstraal,
zodat de verwijderde afzettin-
gen niet in de motor terecht ko-
men. Wanneer de bougie een
gescheurde isolering, verroeste
elektroden of excessieve afzet-
tingen heeft, moet ze vervangen
worden.
