Chapter 2
Modem Installation
This chapter describes the panel function and installation procedure for the U 90E.
A shielded RS-232 cable is required to ensure compliance with FCC Part 15, and it is your
responsibility to use a shielded RS-232 cable. Make sure your installation site is clean and
well ventilated. The ventilation slot of your ZyXEL modem located on the sides and bottom
should not be covered to allow for free movement of air.
2.1
Front Panel
The LEDS on the front panel indicate the operational status of the modem. Figure 2.1
shows the front panel of the U-90E. There are 12 LED indicators and two key switches.
