f) Do not expose a battery to fire or excessive tem-
peratures. Fire or temperatures above 130°C may
cause an explosion.
g) Follow all charging instructions and never charge
the battery or rechargeable tool outside the tem-
perature range specified in the operating manual.
Incorrect charging or charging outside the approved
temperature range can destroy the battery and in-
crease the risk of fire.
6) Service
a) Only have your power tool repaired by qualified
specialists and only with original spare parts. This
will ensure that the safety of the power tool is main-
tained.
b) Never attempt to service damaged batteries. Any
type of battery maintenance shall be carried out only
by the manufacturer or an authorised customer ser-
vice centre.
Safety instructions for snow blowers
This snow blower is capable of amputating hands and
feet as well as throwing objects around at high speed.
Failure to observe the following safety instructions could
result in serious injury.
Training
1. Read, understand and follow all instructions on the
product itself and in the manual before starting this
product up. Familiarise yourself with the control devic-
es and proper use of the product. Ensure that you are
aware of how you can stop the product and disengage
the control devices quickly.
2. Never allow children to operate the product. Never al-
low adults who have not been trained to operate the
product.
3. Keep the work area clear of all people, especially
small children.
4. Proceed with caution in order to prevent slipping or
falling, especially when moving the snow blower back-
wards.
Preparation
1. Inspect the area in which the product will be used
thoroughly and remove all foot mats, sledges, boards,
cables and other foreign objects.
2. Do not operate the product without wearing appropriate
winter clothing. Avoid wearing very loose clothing that
could get caught in moving parts. Wear shoes that as-
sist with preventing slipping on slippery surfaces.
3. Always wear safety goggles or eye protection during
operation or when performing adjustments or repairs
in order to protect your eyes from foreign objects that
may be ejected by the product.
4. Never attempt to adjust the product while the motor is
running.
Operation
1. Do not move your hands or feet near or below rotating
parts. Always keep away from all ejection openings.
2. Proceed with extreme caution when operating close to
or on grit or gravel paths. Pay attention to hidden dan-
gers when operating the product close to public roads.
3. If you have encountered a foreign object, stop the mo-
tor, remove the batteries, inspect the snow blower for
possible damage and repair this damage before re-
starting and operating the snow blower again.
4. If the product begins to vibrate abnormally, stop the
motor and check immediately for the cause of the vi-
bration. Vibrations are generally a warning sign point-
ing to faults.
5. Stop the motor when leaving the operating position,
before clearing blockages from the collector/wheel
housing or the ejector chute, and when you want to
perform repairs adjustments or inspections.
6. Proceed with extreme caution on slopes.
7. Never operate the snow blower without the proper
guards and other protective equipment in place and in
good working order.
8. Never direct the ejector towards people or areas
where damage to property could result. Keep away
from children and other people.
9. Do not overload the capacity of the product by trying
to clear the snow too quickly.
10. Never operate the product at high speeds on slippery
surfaces. Look behind you and proceed with caution
when working in reverse.
11. Switch the product off if the snow blower is to be
transported or is not in use.
12. Only use additional equipment and accessories ap-
proved by the snow blower manufacturer.
13. Never operate the snow blower without good visibility
and lighting. Always ensure stability and hold the han-
dles tight. Always walk, never run.
14. Never touch the hot motor.
Removing blockages from the ejector chute
Contact between hands and the rotating wheel in the
ejector chute is the most common cause of injuries when
working with snow blowers. Never use your hands to
clear the ejector chute.
To clean the ejector chute:
1. Switch the product off!
2. Wait for 10 seconds in order to ensure that the
wheel's cutters are no longer rotating.
3. Always use a clearing tool and not your hands.
Maintenance and storage
1. Check that shear bolts and screws are tight at regular
intervals, in order to ensure that the product is in safe
operating condition.
2. Always consult the operating manual for important de-
tails if the snow blower is to be stored for an extended
period of time.
3. Maintain or replace the safety labels as required.
4. Allow the product to run for a few minutes after blow-
ing the snow in order to prevent the collector/wheel
freezing.
When cleaning, repairing or inspecting the snow blower,
stop the motor and ensure that the collector/wheel and all
moving parts are no longer moving. Remove the batteries
in order to prevent anyone starting the motor inadvertently.
