Additional Guidelines:
Ì Immediate Action: Leave the apartment immediately, taking
keys and mobile phone, and close all doors behind you. Do not
pack belongings or open windows.
Ì Door Safety: Do not open any door that feels hot or from which
smoke is seeping.
Ì Smoke Navigation: If smoke has spread, stay close to the floor
and crawl to escape the danger area. Breathe in short, shallow
breaths or hold your breath.
Ì Apartment Door: Close your apartment door behind you.
Ì Elevator Caution: NEVER use elevators when exiting the buil-
ding!
Ì Assistance: Help children, the elderly, or disabled individuals to
leave the building.
Ì Evacuation: Evacuate the building if necessary.
Ì Main Entrance: Leave the front door at ground level wide open.
Ì Emergency Call: Call the fire department (112), and provide your
name and address.
Ì Gather: Meet with other residents outside the building and
check that everyone is present.
Ì Re-entry: NEVER re-enter a smoke-filled or burning apartment.
Ì Key Handover: Give your apartment keys to the fire department.

Carbon Monoxide (CO)-
important guidelines
CO is a toxic, non-irritating, colorless, and odorless gas.
Due to its properties, it is hardly identifiable. Inhalation of
CO can quickly lead to CO poisoning.
The following symptoms may occur in connection with
CO poisoning and should be noted by all residents:
Ì Mild Exposure: Slight headaches, vomiting, fatigue
(often described as „flu-like" symptoms).
Ì Moderate Exposure: Severe, throbbing headaches,
drowsiness, confusion, rapid heartbeat.
Ì Extreme Exposure: Unconsciousness, convulsions,
cardiorespiratory failure, death.
