Cylinder Removal -
Mast on Truck (Vertical)

Disconnect the cylinder supply hose from the cylinder
inlet port.
@ Attach an overhead hoist to the top carriage bar as
shown. Raise the carriage midway up the outer mast
channel.
CAUTION:
Do not allow the inner upright to raise.
@ Remove the snap rings from the carriage chain anchors.

Remove the carriage chain anchors from the carriage
chains.
Pull
the carriage chains back through the top of
the crosshead.
@ Raise the carriage until it contacts the inner upright
stops. Raise the carriage and inner upright to allow the
crosshead guides to come out of engagement with the
inner upright guide channels.
@ Raise the cylinder with a floor jack to slip the bootstrap
chains (and internal reeving hoses if equipped) off of the
lower sheaves.
@ Turn the crosshead to one side and remove the cylinder.
@ For reassembly, reverse the above procedures.

Mast on Floor (Horizontal)

Disconnect the cylinder supply hose from the cylinder
inlet port.
@ Roll the carriage to the midpoint of the outer mast
channel.

Remove the snap rings from the carriage chain anchors.

Remove the carriage chain anchors from the carriage
chains. Pull the carriage chains back through the top of
the crosshead.
@ Push the carriage and inner upright toward the top of the
mast to allow the crosshead guides to come out of
engagement with the inner upright guide channels.
@ Push the cylinder toward the top of the mast to slip the
bootstrap chains (and internal reeving hoses if equip-
ped) off of the lower sheaves.
@ Turn the crosshead to one side and remove the cylinder.
@ For reassembly, reverse the above procedures.
