accessories, e.g. inlay soles, may have a negative influence on the boot's protective
function.
3. Observe the following care instructions to ensure the boots retain their protective
properties against cold and dampness and remain supple:
• Before wearing for the first time, impregnate the boots with suitable shoe care or a
good leather dubbing. Start wearing the boots in dry conditions only, not in the wet.
This allows dust particles to seal the boot's pores and seams and improve its water
repellent properties.
Clean your boots whenever they are dirty. Wash away caked dirt with a mild
solution of soap and water. Do not use aggressive or caustic cleaning agents.
Chemicals or other contamination (e.g. animal secretions) may result in permanent
structural damage to the leather.
Allow wet boots to dry slowly and naturally. Important: Do not place them next to a
source of heat or in the sun.
Boots require regular care. Important: Using excessive amounts of care agents
or care agents with a very high animal fat content may impair the leather's water
resistance.
4. Before each use, check the shoes for visible damage, functionality of fastening me-
chanisms, sufficient depth of the sole profile etc. Please ensure that the shoe is tied
up completely including all string elements, including additional special elements or
eyelets in the flaps provided in some models.
5. These shoes' lining materials are high-quality, partially dyed materials or leather which
have been selected with due care. These materials may stain. No guarantee can be
given in this connection.
6. It is important that the chosen shoes are suitable for the established protection requi-
rements and the corresponding area of use. Suitable shoes should be selected by the
user on the basis of the risk analysis, in accordance with the area in which they work.
You can also receive detailed information about this at the corresponding mutual
indemnity associations. You can find the conformity declaration for your product at
https://stihl.com/conformity.
7. Avoid damaging the boot material with pointed or sharp objects (saw chain, metal cut-
ting tool, etc.) or contact with aggressive substances such as animal excrement, acids,
oil, solvents, fuel, etc. in order to avoid the material to be damaged.
Warning! If the boots are splashed during operation with fuel, oil, grease or other
flammable substances, clean them immediately as specified before continuing work
since there is otherwise a risk of fire.
8. The boots will no longer provide the specified protection if they are damaged, not
cleaned properly or got out of shape. Replace such boots immediately to ensure that
the wearer continues to receive maximum protection.
For other care hints, please ask us, or the retailer from which you bought these safety
shoes.
