    This chapter describes characteristics/configuration/specification of this product. 2.1. Introduction The solid-state type electron beam power supply, HPS-1600F, (hereafter referred to as EB power supply) is designed to stabilize circuits and improve performance based on ULVAC's many years of technological accumulation and achievements. HPS-1600F is a power supply that supports electron beam evaporation sources: EGL series (hereinafter referred to as EB guns).

    (14) There are no parts that require periodic replacement, such as vacuum tubes. 2.3. Equipment configuration This equipment consists of the power supply main unit: HPS-1600F and the Gun controller. In addition, the configuration in combination with an EB gun is as shown in Fig. 2.1.

If the EARTH GUN GND cable is not connected, it is extremely danger because the power supply enclosure is in a floating condition. Before turning on the power to the EB power supply, always make sure that the EARTH GUN GND cable is connected and then turn on the MAIN circuit breaker.

Take more than enough care in such a way as to attach a metallic cover to the high-voltage introduction terminal so that the operator will never contact the high-voltage.

(Fig. 2.1) Table 3.3 shows the correspondence between connector pins and output. For connection on the side of the EB gun (loading), see the operations manual of the EB gun.

If the power supply equipment you use connects to the earth, use isolation amplifiers to insulate signals.

For the current range with no current limitation, the X coil current is from 0.4 to -3.5 A for the S type and from 2.0 to 16 A for the H type, and the Y coil current is from -1.2 to +1.2 A for the S type and from -2 to +2 A for the H type.

The maximum value of the beam current can be limited by adjusting the EMISSION MAX item in the EMISSION menu. The maximum beam current is decided by the performance of the EB gun and the evaporation material.
