5 Running a D-Phy Self-Test

This chapter describes how to run a self-test on the D-Phy connectors.

Connecting for a D-Phy Self-Test

This procedure describes how to connect the SMP cables provided with
the Envision X14 to the SMP ports on the instrument to run a self-test.
This procedure assumes that you have a host PC with the VPS GUI
installed and you have an IP connection session to the Envision X14.
To connect your source DUT to the Envision X14 for self-test:
1.
Connect the four (4) SMP cables provided as shown in the diagram
below. Note that the first pair of D-Phy connections to D0-/D0+
connectors serves as the D-Phy clock in the Self-Test mode; the D-
Phy clock connectors are not used in the Self-Test. The D1-/D1+
connectors serve a data lane.
2.
Connect a PC to the Envision X14 using the Ethernet cable
provided using the procedures in the previous Section above.
3.
Open a terminal emulation program such as Putty and establish a
command SSH session with the Envision X14 via the IP address.
4.
