OPERATION
The pump was tested in oil, and some oil waa left in the
pump to protect it from corrosion. If the oil will con-
taminate the fluid you are pumping, flush
it
out with a
compatible solvent.

open the agitator valve (78).

necessary to thoroughly agitate the paint, without foam-
ing
it.
Foaming wastes paint and may cause poor pump
performance. Lower the agitator speed so it's just
enough to keep the paintpanicles suspended while cir-
culating the paint.
Slowly open the pump air regulator (21) until the pump
is running at about
50
strokes per minute. Turn the
restrictor valve (32) clockwise until the fluid pressure at
the pump is about three times the fluid pressure needed
a t the last outlet of the circulating system. For example,
if 12 psi (0.8 bar) is needed at the last spray gun, adjust
the outlet pressure to 36 psi (2.4 bar). Adjust the pump
air regulator while adjusting the fluid pressure to main-
tain a constant

To reduce the risk of overpressurizing your

and cause serious bodily injury, NEVER exceed 180

necessary to prevent a build up of dried fluid in the
pump or hoses.
To reduce the risk of injury from splashing or static

sparking, always hold a metal part of the spray gun firm-
ly to the side of a grounded metal pail, and use the
lowest possible fluid pressure when flushing.

CAUTION
Water, or even moist air, can cause your pump to
corrode. To help prevent corrosion, NEVER leave
the pump filled with water or air. After normal
flushing, flush the pump again with mineral spirits
or oil-based solvent, relieve pressure, and leave the
mineral spirits in the pump. Be sure to follow all
steps of the Pressure Relief Procedure on
