5. WTW . . . and WTFS . . . heat exchangers

5.1 Description

The Stiebel Eltron WTW and WTFS heat ex-
changers are intended for the SB 302 - 402 S,
SB 602 - 1002 AC, and SB 650/3 AC combinati-
on of floor-standing combi-water heaters.
5.2 Structure of ribbed pipe heat
exchangers
E

• WTW 21/13

• WTW 28/18
• WTW 28/23
Made from SF-copper pipe (tinned) for the he-
ating of drinking water in combination with a
heating boiler or a solar heating unit.
Supplied complete with screws, seals, spacers,
insulating sleeves, thermal insulation and
thermostat for control of the heating circuit
pump.
1 Ribbed pipe
2 Flange plate
3 Connection G ¾ (outside thread); flow/re-
turn as desired
4 Separator G ¾ (inside thread), G 1 (outside
thread)
5 Supporting yoke
6 Sensor support tube, inside Ø 6.5 mm
5.3 Structure of safety ribbed
pipe heat exchanger
• WTFS 21/13
• WTFS 28/23
Made from double-walled SF-copper pipe
(tinned) with leak indicator for heating drin-
king water in combination with a refrigerating
unit (utilisation of the condensation heat).
Supplied complete with screws, seals, insu-
lating sleeves and thermal insulation. Filled
with protective gas and sealed.
1 Ribbed pipe
2 Flange plate
3 Leak indicator
4 Connection pipe - coolant inlet
5 Connection pipe - coolant outlet
6 Support yoke
Leak indicator
In the event of a fault, liquid coolant fluid exits
from the gap and thus indicates the leak.
Drinking water and coolant do not come into
contact with each other in this process.
5.4 Installation notes
WTW and WTFS
When carrying out the installation, observe
the regulations set out in DIN 1988, DIN 8975,
VGB 20 and the guidelines of your water sup-
ply company.
Installation of WTW
G
– Press out the pre-stamped holes in the ther-
mal insulation plate (a) in accordance with
the diagram.
– Insert the thermal insulation plate (a) and
thermal insulation strip (b) into the cover (c).
– Install spacer (d).
1
– Install separators (e).
– Put on cover (c) with thermal insulation.
– Install control unit (f).
– Push the temperature sensor with capillary
tube (g) into the protective pipe up to the
limit stop.
– Connect the control unit in accordance with
connection diagram (h).
– Set the desired temperature using the adjus-
ting screw (i).
To avoid increased anode wear in the
case of the WTW heat exchangers,
the heat exchanger must be isolated when
it is built into the cylinder. Use the supplied
separators and insulating sleeves for this
purpose. The capillary tube must not make
any metallic contact with the protective pipe
or the heating element.
WTFS
Coolant connection with internal soldered
ends F :
– Solder in the coolant inlet (4) on the long
internal pipe.
– Solder on the coolant outlet (5) at the flush
sawn pipe end.
