1 Hardware and Connections The following table describes some of the hardware features used for basic operations. See the hardware chapter in your User’s Guide for full descriptions of all features. FEATURE DESCRIPTION MENU Press this to display the V300’s configuration menu. When the menu displays, you can press this key again to exit the menu.
FEATURE DESCRIPTION Navigator Press these keys to move around the V300’s screens. Press one line in a menu, and press menu, press to go back to the previous menu. When the V300 is not in the configuration menu, you can press to delete the records or save them as the contacts in your phone book.
1.1 Making Hardware Connections 1 LAN: Use an Ethernet cable to connect the V300 to your network. V301 only: if you are using Power over Ethernet (PoE), connect the Ethernet cable supplying power to this port. See 2 PC (optional): Use an Ethernet cable to connect your computer to the PC port on the V300 to access your network through the V300, or to configure the V300 using the web configurator (see your User’s Guide for information on using the web configurator).
4 POWER: Connect the included power adapter to the POWER socket on the V300. Plug the power adapter into an appropriate power source. V301 only: if you are using Power over Ethernet (PoE), you do not need to connect the power adaptor.
2.1 Set up Your Network Connection When you have finished your hardware connections, look at the LCD screen. The main screen displays, showing time and date details, as well as your Voice over Internet (VoIP) account registration status. When you are using the V300’s menus, press the MENU or to the main screen.

1 If you were given a username and password, press 5 in the Adv Setting menu and press 2 Press to enable PPPoE. 3 Scroll down to Username (press 2). 4 Press and enter your user name. Press again when you are done. 5 Press 3 to enter the PPPoE Password menu.

6 Press to configure the new IP address. Use PHONEBOOK to clear the default setting (0.0.0.0) and enter the new IP address and press again. 7 Scroll down and set up the Gateway IP address, Subnet Mask and 1st and 2nd DNS servers (if you have information about only one DNS server, set up the 1st DNS only).

1 Press MENU to enter the menu system. Then, press 4 to enter the Adv Setting menu and press 2 Press again to enter the VoIP1 menu. 3 Make sure the SIP account is active. When the SIP account is active, the V300 tries to register the account on the network.
