Purpose This user manual describes the installation, electrical connection, commissioning, maintenance and troubleshooting of EP900 energy storage system, as well as the tutorial of user interface. Please read the instructions in this manual before installing, operating and maintaining the system.

1.1.2 Battery Safety • Use the battery within the temperature range specified in this manual. • Do not expose the battery to high temperatures or around heat sources, such as direct sunlight, fire, transformers and heaters. Excessive heat can damage and even destroy the energy storage system.

1.2 Installation Attention Do not power ON the EP900 energy storage system if it has not been properly installed or commissioned. • Before starting any work, turn off and isolate all electricity to any circuits to be used with this system.

Use a non-abrasive cloth to clean the equipment and accessories. Do not use water or harsh chemicals. • Please follow the instructions in the user manual to operate the EP900 energy storage system. 1.2.1 Personnel Requirements The installation, commissioning, and maintenance should only be performed by qualified professionals or trained personnel.
Please follow the safety instructions in the user manual and relevant electrical safety codes. Danger Check and make sure the EP900 energy storage system is in good condition. Turn off all switches on the system before connecting to the grid, as it may cause electric shock or other electrical risks.

Operation Danger Do not touch live parts and cables when EP900 energy storage system is running, as it may result in death or lethal injuries due to electric shock. Do not touch the equipment, as the enclosure may become hot when it’s running.

1.4 Transportation All components of the EP900 energy storage system leave the factory in optimum electrical and mechanical state. It's necessary to use original or appropriate packag- ing to ensure the product safety during transportation. When you receive the product, inspect for any kind of damage and note the damage on the delivery receipt.
2. System Installation Danger Do not power ON the EP900 ESS if it has not been properly installed or commissioned. Do not install the EP900 ESS near pipes, windows, or other similar areas prone to leaks to prevent liquids from entering the ESS.

Base 2.4 Installation Requirements 2.4.1Environment Requirements • Install the EP900 ESS in a well-ventilated and spacious area to ensure good heat dissipation. • The EP900 ESS has an IP65 rating and can be installed indoors and outdoors. Please note that if you place the system outside the house, use a cabinet to protect it from direct sunlight, as this may cause a degradation in system performance.

Danger 2.4.2 Location Requirements • The EP900 ESS should be installed on a firm, flat, level base. • Do not install the system on flammable materials. • Consider the weight and placement of components to ensure adequate structural support.

Electrical Connections Danger Prior to any electrical connections, disconnect the AC circuit breaker between the inverter and the grid, and then disconnect the DC switch to power off the system. The capacitor remains charged for a period of time after the inverter is turned off.

For communication between EP900 inverter and B500 battery packs, a communi- cation cable is required. Plug one end of the cable to the top B500’s inverter signal port (TO Pcs), and the other to the battery signal port (Link Port 2) of EP900 inverter. See Figure 3-1-5 “②”.

The PV positive pole and negative pole of the inverter cannot be grounded. Otherwise the inverter will fail. In EP900 energy storage system, all non-current carrying metal parts (such as bracket, distribution box, inverter enclosure, battery pack enclosure, etc.) must be connected to ground.
It is forbidden to connect the two PV inputs in parallel. Do not reverse the PV1 and PV2 cables. Attention Before removing the PV input positive and negative connectors, make sure the DC switch on the EP900 inverter has been set to “OFF”. JUST POWER ON...

Step1: It is recommended to use 12AWG (for PV1) and 10AWG (for PV2) outdoor power cables. Disconnect the cable connector from the EP900 positive and negative connectors. (You’re strongly recommended to distinguish the positive and negative connectors with different colors.) Step2: Use wire strippers to peel off the insulation layer of the positive and negative power cables.

Step3: Insert the exposed core wires into the OT terminal and crimp them with a crimper, as shown in Figure 3-5-2. Step4: Fix the terminals to EP900 inverter load (BACKUP) ports with a cross screw- driver as shown in Figure 3-5-3.

3.8.3 Installation Danger Avoid cables and pipes when drilling into the wall. Step 1: Drill 2 pilot holes in the wall. Please refer to the drill position and hole size shown in Figure 3-7-1 and Figure 3-7-2. The depth of hole is 26mm. Step 2: Hammer the expansion wall plug in until it’s flush with the wall.

• The BLUETTI app connects to EP900 ESS via Bluetooth or WiFi. Tap “Login” and “Sign up” to register your BLUETTI account. Fill in the necessary information to continue. • Check your email for verification code from BLUETTI server, and fill in the code to activate your BLUETTI account.

3.11 Firmware Upgrade 3.11.1 Upgrade via USB Drive EP900 inverter supports firmware upgrades via a USB drive to optimize its perfor- mance and avoid failures caused by firmware errors. Step1: Connect the USB drive to a USB port on your computer.

Step6: The buzzer beeps once after the firmware is updated successfully. Please unplug the USB drive, or EP900 will report a USB Format Error. Step7: Pair EP900 ESS with BLUETTI app, then you can check the firmware version in System information>> Firmware version. If any of the following occurs, please try the solutions provided.
Step3: Wait for about 40 seconds till the inverter indicator is steady green. Step4: Switch on the AC circuit breakers connected to the EP900 grid port. Step5: Power on the system via BLUETTI app. For details, please refer to BLUETTI App Instructions.
