    Handset Installation This section assumes that your network infrastructure is established and that your IP PBX phone service has been ordered and configured for your location. Handset installation involves both the handset and the handset charger. The handset charger is powered using the supplied power adapter. The handset charger can be placed on a flat surface or mounted on a wall.

  • Page 17 IMPORTANT INFORMATION 1. Use only the power adapter supplied with this product. To order a replacement power adapter, visit our website at www.snomamericas.com 2. The power adapter is intended to be correctly oriented in a vertical or floor mount position. The prongs are not designed to hold the plug in place if it is plugged into a ceiling, under-the-table or cabinet outlet.
  • Page 18 To install the handset battery: 1. Place the top of the battery in the handset battery compartment so that the battery connectors are aligned. 2. Push the bottom of the battery down into the battery compartment. 3. Press down on the belt clip so it lifts away from the handset. 4.

  • Page 20 Wall mounting the charger The charger is ready for tabletop use. If you want to mount the charger on a wall, use two 19 mm (3/4 inch) screws and wall anchors to hold the charger in place. Screws and wall anchors are not provided, but are available for purchase at hardware retailers.

    Handset Registration The handset must be registered to the base station in order to make and receive calls. When you power up the handset for the first time, it will attempt to auto- register to the base station. Auto-registration will be successful only if you have set up the M500 configuration file with the handset IPEI, or you have entered the IPEI on the Primary base station’s WebUI.
  • Page 22 Registering by entering the handset’s IPEI on the Web UI To register the handset by entering the IPEI on the WebUI, you need to have at least one handset registered in order to get the IP address of the base station; otherwise, you need to look up the IP address from your router that is connected to the M500.

    Screen icons The following screen icons indicate your phone’s current status: Icon Status Indicates signal strength, from one bar (weak) to four bars (strong). Flashes when out of range. Indicates the battery charge level. The microphone is muted. The keypad is locked. Indicates which of the Programmable Feature Keys (PFK 1 to 6) an active, ringing, or held call occupies.
