CAUTION: MAKE SURE THE POWER CORD IS DISCONNECTED FROM THE POWER SOURCE BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO SERVICE,
MAINTAIN OR LUBRICATE THIS BANDSAW.
Cleaning
Cleaning the bandsaw is relatively easy. Use a brush and a shop vacuum to remove chips and other debris from the machine. Keep the nonpainted
surfaces rust-free with regular applications of a high-quality rust prevention coating. Periodically, remove the blade and thoroughly clean all metal
chips or built-up grease from the wheel surfaces and blade housing.
Lubrication
An essential part of lubrication is cleaning the components before lubricating them. This step is critical because grime and chips build up on
lubricated components over time, which makes them hard to move. Clean all components which require lubrication with mineral spirits, shop rags,
and brushes.
Vise leadscrew
Lube type......dry coating lube
Lube amount..........thin Coat
Lubrication frequency.....every 40 hours of operation
To lubricate vise leadscrew:
1. DISCONNECT POWER CORD FROM POWER SOURCE!
2. Using vise adjusting handle, move vise as far forward as possible.
3. Use mineral spirits and a brush to clean existing lubricant and debris off of vise
leadscrew, as shown in Fig.24. Allow leadscrew to dry.
4. Apply thin coat of dry coating lube to exposed leadscrew threads, then move vise
through its full range of motion several times to disperse lube along full length of
leadscrew.
SYMPTOM

Premature blade dulling.
Bad cuts (crooked).
Bad cuts (rough).

5. Check for recommended blade type.
6. Raise blade above workpiece before starting.
7. Adjust guides.
8. Use thinner blade.
1. Use finer tooth blade.
2. Try next lower speed.
3. Decrease cylinder pressure.
4. Reduce speed and increase feed pressure.
5. Remove blade, twist inside out and reinstall blade.
6. Increase blade tension to proper level.
1. Adjust vise to be square with blade.
2. Decrease cylinder pressure.
3. Adjust guide bearings to .001".
4. Increase blade tension a little at a time.
5. Move guides as close to work as possible.
6. Replace blade.
7. Check manual for recommended speed.
8. Tighten and retrack blade according to manual.
1. Reduce speed and feed.
