Installing and adjusting work stop
To install work stop:
1. Insert work stop shaft (A) Fig.16 into opening and secure it by tightening hex. bolt (B)
under the table.
2. Slide work stop (C) onto the shaft and tighten thumb screw (D) to secure it into
position.
To adjust work stop:
1. Loosen thumb screw (D) Fig.16 holding the work stop to the shaft.
2. Adjust the work stop (C) to the desired length position.
3. Rotate the work stop to as close to the bottom of the cut as possible.
4. Retighten thumb screw (D).
Operation
WARNING: NEVER OPERATE BANDSAW WITHOUT BLADE GUARDS IN PLACE.
Be sure the blade is not in contact with the work when the motor is started. Allow the blade
to come to full speed, then begin the cut by letting the head down slowly onto the work.
DO NOT DROP OR FORCE. Let the weight of the head provide the cutting force. The
bandsaw automatically shuts off at the end of the cut.
Coolant System
This bandsaw has a built-in coolant system that delivers coolant fluid to the workpiece
during a cut, it extends the life of your bandsaw blades by lowering the cutting temperature
and washing away chips.
To use coolant system:
1. Place filter screen (A) Fig.17 and drain tube (B) in the reservoir, as shown.
2. Fill reservoir to "High" mark with cutting fluid.
3. Adjust valve (C) Fig.17 on coolant hose to control the flow of coolant. Make sure that
pressure is not so high that coolant spills on floor and creates a slipping hazard.
4. Turn pump coolant On/Off switch (A) Fig.18 to the On position before making your cut.
WARNING: FIRE HAZARD! DO NOT cut magnesium when using oil water solutions as
a cutting fluid! Always use a cutting fluid intended for magnesium. The water in the solution
will cause a magnesium-chip fire.
WARNING: Keep tray filter screen (A) Fig.17 clear so coolant can recycle to pump
reservoir. NEVER operate pump with reservoir below "Low" mark or you will overheat
pump and void warranty!
Vertical cutting
This bandsaw can be set up for vertical cutting operations.
1. Raise head to maximum height, then close feed On/Off valve (A) Fig.12 to lock head
in place.
2. Remove two countersunk head screws (A) Fig.19 and blade guide cover (B).
3. Install vertical work table (C) and secure it in place using the same two countersunk
head screws (A) removed previously.
4. Install table support bracket (A) Fig.20 to vertical work table using a flat head screw
and hex. nut (C), slide other end of support bracket between the two washers and
tighten hex. bolt (B) preinstalled in casting. Finger tighten for now.
5. Place a square on the vertical work table up against the blade, adjust table bracket (A)
Fig.20 until table is square to blade, then fully tighten fasteners from Step 4 to secure.
