Plunge Cutting... continued
WARNING: Make sure blade does not touch work until motor reaches full speed, since this
can cause loss of control resulting in serious injury. With saw blade at full cutting speed,
slowly tilt saw downward until tip of blade starts cutting work. After blade penetrates work,
tilt saw until it is perpendicular to the work.
Metal Cutting
Metals such as sheet steel, pipe, steel rods, aluminum, brass and copper may be cut with
your saw. Be careful not to twist or bend the saw blade. DO NOT FORCE. We recommend
cutting oil when cutting most soft metals and steel. Cutting oil will also keep blades cool,
increasing cutting action, and prolonging blade life.
Clamp the work firmly and cut close to the clamping point to eliminate any vibration of the
work being cut. When cutting conduit pipe or angle iron, clamp work in a vise if possible
and cut close to the vise. To cut thin sheet material, "sandwich" the material between
hardboard or plywood and clamp the layers to eliminate vibration and material tearing.
MAINTENANCE
WARNING: THERE ARE NO USER SERVICE-ABLE PARTS INSIDE
Preventative maintance performed by an unauthorized personnel may result in the
misplacement of internal wires and componenets which could cause serious hazards. We
recommend that all servicing be performed by a qualified KING CANADA service centre
technician.
Battery
Pay attention to the battery power levels as the battery nears its end of life. If you notice a
decrease in battery performance or a significant difference in running power between
charges, then it is time to replace the battery. Failure to do so may damage the charger
and cause improper operation.
Cleaning
To avoid accidents, always remove the battery from the tool before cleaning. The tool is
most effectively cleaned with the use of an air compressor. Always wear safety glasses
when using an air compressor. Ventilation openings and switch levers must be kept clean
and free of foreign objects. Do not insert pointed objects through these openings in the
attempt to clean them.
1. Air vents of the tool should be cleaned regularly to avoid overheating of the motor which
is caused by the blocking of the air vents.
2. DON'T clean this tool with water, as no liquid is allowed in the tool body. Clean the tool
with a dry clean cloth only. Compressed air at low pressure is also suitable.
3. DON'T allow petroleum based products to come into contact with the plastic parts of the
tool, as they contain chemicals that can damage or destroy the plastic parts.
