WARNING
Check the firmware version for fail-safe approval
When using a new firmware version, check whether the firmware version is approved for the respective fail-safe I/O.
The attachments of the certificate (https://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/49368678/134200) for SIMATIC
Safety specify the firmware version that is approved.
Ensure that fail-safe capability is enabled for F-CPUs.
The PROFIsafe address must be set or assigned for fail-safe I/O.
Perform function tests for safety functions according to your automation task. They may only be used in production when the
correct operation of the safety-related functions is ensured.

Use of radio devices and cell phones
WARNING
Unexpected malfunctions of machines caused by radio devices/cell phones
Malfunctions are possible when radio devices or cell phones are used in the direct proximity of F-I/O. This can result in death,
serious injury or property damage.
If you scan the 2D matrix code/ID Link or use the "SIEMENS Industry Support App" with a powered-on F-I/O, then deactivate all
radio connections of the radio device/cell phone beforehand. Alternatively, power off the F-I/O before scanning.
Power off radio devices in the immediate proximity of the F-I/O.
Siemens provides products and solutions with industrial cybersecurity functions that support the secure operation of plants,
systems, machines, and networks.
In order to protect plants, systems, machines, and networks against cyber threats, it is necessary to implement – and
continuously maintain – a holistic, state-of-the-art industrial cybersecurity concept. Siemens' products and solutions constitute
one element of such a concept.
Customers are responsible for preventing unauthorized access to their plants, systems, machines and networks. Such systems,
machines and components should only be connected to an enterprise network or the internet if and to the extent such a
connection is necessary and only when appropriate security measures (e.g. firewalls and/or network segmentation) are in
place.

Siemens' products and solutions undergo continuous development to make them more secure. Siemens strongly recommends
that product updates are applied as soon as they are available and that the latest product versions are used. Use of product
versions that are no longer supported, and failure to apply the latest updates may increase customers' exposure to cyber
threats.
