WARNING
Electric shock due to permissible electric potential difference
Due to the permissible electric potential difference, a dangerous voltage may be present at the inputs of modules. An electric
shock on contact with live parts can lead to death or serious injury.
Therefore, ensure that the plant is completely disconnected from the power supply before starting work. This means that all
externally supplied plant units must also be disconnected from the power supply.
WARNING
Safety functional extra low voltage
The product must be operated with safety functional extra low voltage (SELV, PELV). You can find more information on safety
functional extra low voltage in the documentation (https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/109781058) of the
fail-safe I/O and in the data sheets of the power supplies to be used.
Use a power supply unit with output voltage that does not exceed 35 V DC even in the event of a fault.
Follow the notes and warnings in the respective manual.
Electromagnetic Compatibility
The I/O system is intended for operation in the EMC environment class Industry.
Ensure an EMC-compliant design of your automation system as described in the
(

NOTICE
Interference emission / Interference immunity
The operation of the I/O system can cause radio interference in residential areas.
If higher EMI is expected at the place of use than is intended for the industrial area according to EN61000-6-2, additional
measures are required (e.g. ESD, overvoltage protection).
ATEX-/UKEX device intended for use in hazardous area
If the product is intended for use in a potentially explosive atmosphere (gas/air or gas/dust mixture), observe the special
documentation (
information in the
(e.g. ATEX zone, degree of protection, temperature class) is indicated on the product (in the declaration of conformity and
usually also on the nameplate).
NOTE
As a rule, country-specific requirements for the operator also apply when a product is used in a potentially explosive
atmosphere (e.g. Directive 1999/92/EC for the EU).
