Operation of Workstation

Switching On

When operating the Workstation, the User should position themselves at a distance of one metre from
the Workstation.
After initially switching on the Workstation, any services and applications running on the Workstation may take up to 90
seconds to become fully operational .
1 . Connect the AC power cord from the AC supply to the AC power inlet socket on the Workstation .
2 . Verify the AC Power indicator is illuminated .
3 . Optional: Verify the network cable is attached to the port denoted by the
4 . Press the key once to switch the Workstation on .

Barcode reader test
Pump Alarm Location Beacon test,

Initialisation of each tile
Nurse call test, when connected
Windows CE software start-up
Initialisation of the Workstation

System initiates the power on Self-test Verify the System Fault indicator
Test of internal systems
Power on of workstation complete
Do not switch off the Workstation during this initial 90 second period.
If any of the verification checks fail when the Workstation is switched on, suspect a fault. Remove the
Workstation from service and contact Qualified Service Personnel.
Not all steps may complete prior to the start of the subsequence step.

Switching Off

Press the key and hold for two seconds to switch the Workstation off .

Primary Workstation
ON status indicator is illuminated
The red LED on the barcode reader
(where fitted) is briefly illuminated
and the barcode reader emits a beep .
Verify the Pump Alarm Location
Beacon (where fitted) illuminates red
then yellow and is then extinguished .
Verify the System Fault indicator
illuminates briefly, emits a series of
beeps and is then extinguished .
Nurse call automatically activated
Verify the Workstation emits a brief
audible tone .
The A and B Status indicators flash
after a long beep
illuminates briefly and is then
extinguished .
