The benchtop mainframes that are connected as expansion mainframes are
automatically powered on when the first benchtop or portable mainframe is
powered on. If everything is properly connected and operational, you will see the
expansion mainframe and the installed modules in the System window.
NOTE.
You must have a module installed in an expansion mainframe before the
expansion mainframe appears in the System window.
To power off the mainframes, press the On/Standby switch on the mainframe.
Both the portable and benchtop mainframes have a built-in soft power-off function
that safely powers off the mainframe when you press the On/Standby switch. The
expansion mainframes automatically power off when you turn off the benchtop
or portable mainframe.
The instrument does not ship with an operating system restore disc. Use the
following procedure to create a set of discs that enable you to restore the operating
system if the need arises.
NOTE.
This procedure creates a set of restore discs for the Microsoft Windows
operating system. After restoring the operating system, use the TLA Application
disc to reinstall the TLA application software. (See page 85, Reinstalling the TLA
Application Software.)
