Corrupted Software Repair Procedure

Use this test to check for a software failure in the unit. This test corrects units that display SELF-
CHECK FAIL 04000 messages.
Required equipment: computer workstation with RSS installed, data cable RS232, or USB cable
To perform the flash test (test time approx. 8 min.):
1. Connect the unit to the computer workstation.
2. Power up the unit. Wait until registration is complete before continuing.
3. If a SELF-CHECK FAIL message is displayed, use the RSS to reflash the latest software into
the unit. Make sure the software and codeplug versions match.
4. Place a test call to determine if the unit is operational. If the unit still does not work, there are
problems other than the software.
