Safe for traffic conditions according to German traffic law
Optionally, the PARAVAN electric wheelchair can be enhanced to be-
come a vehicle approved for use in road traffic using:
>
LED headlights for the best possible illumination .
>
LED directional indicators .
>
LED rear lights for the best possible visibility .
>
Lateral markings in the centres of the wheels using yellow
reflectors.
6.5.1
Section 24 Special means of transport

Wheelchairs are mentioned in German traffic law. In that law,
it is stated:
>
(1) Push and grip wheelchairs, sleds, prams, scooters, children's bi-
cycles and other similar means of transport are not vehicles in
the sense of German traffic regulations.
>
(2) Medical wheelchairs and other wheelchairs as mentioned
in Paragraph 1 may circulate wherever pedestrian traffic is
permitted, but only at walking speed.
