The function is useful for net operations or for
selectively calling an individual.

Normal operating procedure would require that you
make prior arrangements with all members of the
group/net, so that all interested parties know which
DTMF code will be used for individual/group calls, and
that everyone knows who uses which individual code.
Since the paging system makes use of a 3 digit code
(000 thru 999) you could have a very large group and
still have extra code groups available.
The paging function permits the 3 digit code of the
calling station to be displayed in the display to allow
easy identification of the calling station.
