NOTE:
The hard drive spare part kit does not include the hard drive bracket and hard drive connector cable.
These components are included in the Hard Drive Hardware Kit, spare part number 768020-001.
Description
500-GB, 5400-rpm, 7.0-mm hard drive
500-GB, 5400-rpm, 8 GB hybrid SSD, 7.0-mm hard drive
Hard Drive Hardware Kit (includes cable, bracket, and screws)
Before removing the hard drive, follow these steps:
1.
Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the
computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.
Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer.
3.
Disconnect all external devices from the computer.

Remove the top cover (see

Disconnect the battery.
Remove the hard drive:
1.
Disconnect the cable (1) from the system board.
2.
Remove the two Phillips PM2.5×4.0 screws (2) that secure the hard drive to the computer.
