Before consulting your JVC dealer, please check the
following to see if you can correct the problem yourself.
The camcerder is a microcomputer-centrolled
device. External noise and interference (from a TV,
a radio, etc.) might prevent it from functioning
properly. In such cases, first disconnect its power
supply unit (battery pack, AC Adapter, etc.) and wait
a few minutes; and then re-connect it and proceed
as usual from the beginning.
• Focus is set to the Manual mode.
-* Set Focus to the Auto mode (Lrj" pg. 26).
•The recording was done in a dark place, or the
contrast was low.
•The lens is dirty or covered with condensation.
-* Clean the lens and check the focus again
(_r _ .-pg. 43).
• The power is not connected properly.
-* Connect the AC Adapter securely (_" pg. 7).
• The battery is dead.
-* Replace the dead battery with a fully charged one
(_r_ pg. 7, 8).
•The cassette is in the wrong position.
-* Set it in the right position (_" pg. 9).
•The battery's charge is low.
-* Install a fully charged battery (_r _ - pg. 7, 8).
•The memory card is in the wrong position.
-* Set it in the right position (Lr_ pg. tl).
• The date/time is not set.
-* Set the date/time (_r?pg. 10).
• The built-in clock battery has run out and the
previously set date/time has been erased.
-* Consult your nearest JVC dealer for replacement.

For Tape Recording --
• The ta#e's erase protection tab is set to "SAVE".
-* Set the tape's erase protection tab to "REC"
(_r_ pg. 9).
• The Power Switch _) is set to "PLAY" or "OFF
(CHARGE)".
-* Set the Power Switch _) to "Q _or "_"
(_r? pg. 13).
• The VIDEO/DSC Switch 101 is set to "DSC%
-* Set the MIDEO/DSC Switch _ to "VIDEO".
• "TAPE END" appears.
-* Replace with new cassette (_r_-pg. 9).
• The cassette holder cover is open.
-* Close the cassette holder cover.
•The Squeeze mode is selected.
-* Disengage the Squeeze mode (_
pg. 29).
•The light source or the subject does not include white.
Or there are various different light sources behind the
subject.
-* Find a white subject and compose your shot so that
it also appears in the frame (_
pg. t7, 25).
•The Sepia or Monotone mode is activated.
-* Turn off Sepia and Monotone (_r ? pg. 23).
• Shooting was performed under backlit conditions.
-* Press the BACKMGHT Button _ (_
pg. 26).
•The subject is too bright.
-* Set "PROGRAM AE" to "SPOTLIGHT" in the Menu
Screen (_r_pg. 23).

For Memory Card Recording --
• The VIDEO/DSC Switch 101 is set to "VIDEO".
-* Set the VIDEO/DSC Switch _ to "DSC".
• The camcerder is not getting power, or some other
malfunction exists.
-* Turn the cemcerder's power off and on again

• t6X optical zoom is selected.
-* Set "ZOOM _to "4OX" or "7O0X" in the Menu Screen
(_r?pg. 28).
•The VlDEO/DSC Switch _ is set to "DSC".
-* Set the VlDEO/DSC Switch 101 to "VIDEO"
(_r ? pg. t3).
