OPERATING THE AUDIO COMPONENTS
Press the POWER switch to the ON position, and turn on the power to
the other audio components you wish to use.

1. Use the input selector buttons to select the desired audio
program source.

To listen to compact discs
* If you select a music source other than TAPE 2, switch off the TAPE
2 MONITOR.
2. Operate the appropriate audio component to play back the
program source.
3. Adjust the volume as desired.

quality adjustments cannot be performed unless GUI is
used (see pages 56 to 61).
lf you recall a system that already includes SFC processor with the
SELECTION button or with a SYSTEM SELECTOR button, playback
with SFC is possible.
- @When there is distortion due to an excessively high input level,
Switch INPUT ATT ON.
When switched ON, the INPUT ATT indicator in the display section
lights.

RECORDING
You can record sound from TUNER, CD, and PHONO on TAPE 1, or
TAPE 2 cassette decks.
RECORDING WITH TAPE 1
Select the source you want to record from (TUNER, CD, or
PHONO) with the input selector buttons.
. Load the TAPE 1 cassette deck with a tape for recording.
. Start recording on the TAPE 1 cassette deck.

RECORDING WITH TAPE 2
The source selected by the input selector buttons can be recorded.
Select the source you want to record from (TUNER, CD, or
PHONO) with the input selector buttons.
¢ Be sure that the TAPE 2 MONITOR button is OFF.
. Load the TAPE 2 cassette deck with a tape for recording.
. Start recording on the TAPE 2 cassette deck.

USING VCR 1, VCR 2 FOR AUDIO RECORDING
The audio signal output from the VCR 1 and VCR 2 AUDI0 REC jacks
is the same as that output from the TAPE 1 REC jacks,so you can
record using the same procedures as for recording wit) TAPE 1.
COPYING TAPES
The following operations concern TAPE 1 to TAPE 2 copyéng.
Press the TAPE 1 input selector button.
lf the TAPE 2 MONITOR button is ON, press to turnit OFF.
. Load the TAPE 1 cassette deck with a tape to pla back.
. Load the TAPE 2 cassette deck with a tape to reord to.
. Start recording on the TAPE 2 cassette deck.
. Start playback on the TAPE 1 cassette deck.

The following operations concern TAPE 2 to TAPE 1 conyi ng.
. Select a source other than TAPE 1 with the inpt selector
buttons.
. Press the TAPE
2 MONITOR button to turn it ON.
. Load the TAPE 2 cassette deck with a tape to pla track.
. Load the TAPE 1 cassette deck with a tape to reoret to.
. Start recording on the TAPE 1 cassette deck.
. Start playback on the TAPE 2 cassette deck.

Tape monitoring
When
recording is performed on a cassette deck equpp ed with
monitoring function, the recorded sound can be monitond through
the speaker system by pressing the TAPE 2 MONITOR butor7 to ON.
