OPERATING EXTERNAL COMPONENTS
(Gu! OPERATION)
The GUI operation
can be used to operate
some
functions of
PIONEER
marked VCRs, TV sets, LD players, cassette decks,
turntables, and CD players.
REMOTE CONTROLLING OF ANY OTHER OF YOUR AUDIO-
VISUAL COMPONENTS VIA THIS UNIT REQUIRES:
@ Alli components must have remote control jacks (IN/OUT) on
the rear panel
and be correctly connected
to the receiver
according to the diagram on page 28.
When operating components other than the receiver:
1. Press the MENU
button on the remote control.
An image of the component corresponding to the position of
the input selector is displayed in the bottom half of the TV
screen.
elf you want to operate
a component
other than the one
displayed, move the cursor (the hand-shaped mark) under the
image of "TAPE1", "PHONO", "CD", "VCR1", "VCR2", "VIDEO",
"TV/SAT", or "LD" with the 4, V, <, and > buttons, and press
the ENTER button (or select with the input selector, and press
MENU button).
2. Move the cursor to the desired operation key in the center of
the image,
and
press the ENTER
button
on the remote
control.
¢ Operation commands are transmitted from the receiver to the
component via the control cord.
3. When the operation display is not required, move the cursor
to "CLOSE!" at bottom left with the 4, V, <, and > buttons,
and
press
the
ENTER
button
(you
can
also
cancel
the
operation display by pressing the MENU button once more).
[CD] (CD player)
POWER
: Switches CD player power ON/OFF.

: Selects fast backward.
Laaiead
: Selects fast forward.
Lael
: Returns
to the beginning
of the track currently
playing.
meee
: Advances to the next track.
a
: Stops playback.
a
: Pauses playback.

: Selects playback.
MIAGAZINE 1, 2, 3
: Selects the MAGAZINE No. (1 to 3) for Multi-play CD
players.

DISC SEL
: Selects the DISC No. (1 to 6) for Multi-play CD
players.
+10
: Use when selecting a track number higher than 10.
For example, to select 21, select "+10" twice and
then "1". "+10" cannot be used with some PIONEER
CD players.
1—9, 0
: For direct selection of a track.
[TAPE 1] (Cassette deck)
When using a single cassette deck, use "II" side.
POWER
: Switches cassette deck power ON/OFF.
{This key cannot
be used with some
PIONEER
cassette decks.)
TAPE SEL (1—6)
: Selects the cassette No. for multi-cassette changer.
("I": Deck I, "II": Deck 11]

: Selects reverse playback.

: Stops tape transport.

: Selects forward playback.

: Rapidly advances the tape in the direction of arrow.

: Temporarily stops tape transport. Press again to
resume tape transport.
[LD] (LD player/CD CDV LD player)
POWER
: Switches LD player power ON/OFF.

: Selects fast backward.

: Selects fast forward.

: Searches for the start of the chapter paying.
Lael
: Searches for the start of the next chapter.

: Playback is stopped when selected one.
Selecting
again causes the disc tray to come out

: Video and audio are stopped and plaayback is
paused.

: Selects playback.
DISC SEL
: Selects the CD/CDV disc No. (1 to 5) fe FMulti-play
CD CDV LD players.
SIDE A, B
: Selects playback LD disc side (A/B).
+10
: Use to input such information as chaper
numbers
higher than 10.
1—9, 0
: For direct selection of a chapter.
