Recommended Order of Installation

1. CAREFULLY PLAN THE INSTALLATION. Determine the location of the VF Fire Pit Burner and the controls.
Make sure all clearances will be met, (see page 14).
2. Run the gas line to the fire pit location. The appliance requires:
65,000 BTU input (NG or LP) for a 10" Burner.
125,000 BTU input (NG or LP) for a 13" Burner
175,000 BTU input (NG or LP) for an 18" Burner
225,000 BTU input (NG or LP) for a 22" Burner
350,000 BTU input (NG or LP) for a 32" Burner
3. Install the transformer and on/off switch and run low voltage wire to the fire pit location.
4. Frame the VF Fire Pit Burner enclosure (see page 17) OR construct the fire pit block enclosure (see page 18).
Install the key valve enclosure vent assemblies or separate key valve and vents at this time.
5. Convert the appliance to LP gas if applicable (see page 23).
6. Assemble the 4-piece base plate on the fire pit burner assembly (see page 21).

8. Connect the 34" long flex line from the fire pit valve to the key valve.
9. Supply Electrical: The appliance uses 24VAC power and draws approximately 1.6 amps - Make sure the circuit
and wiring are appropriately sized (see diagrams starting on pg. 27.). If multiple appliances are powered through
a single switch the control modules for each of the individual appliances may be daisy-chained together. Make
sure to leave slack in the electrical line so the appliance or Fire Pit Burner assembly can be removed for service.
10. Bleed the gas line and briefly test fire the fire pit by switching on the electrical power to the control module. Leak
test the gas lines. Verify the appliance works correctly and that there are no gas leaks.
11. Place the fire pit assembly into the enclosure.
12. Finalize the installation. Install the crushed glass, crushed glass with an optional Bonfire log set (sold
separately), or tumbled stone media.
13. Give the manual to the homeowner and explain the operation of the appliance.
