TROUBLESHOOTING

Cause
¢ Power cord is disconnected.
® Instances are rare, but the problem may be due
to the operation of the protector circuit.
Power does not come on even
when POWER switch is pressed.

* Accessory T-type antenna remains bundled up
or it is not pointing in right direction.

AM reception
* AM loop antenna is not pointing in right direction.
¢ Weak broadcasting station signals.
® Noise being picked up from this unit and other
equipment (especially electrical appliances using
motor or fluorescent lights).
* Input signals are not strong enough.
No auto stop.

© (FM) If the T-type antenna is being used, change
to an outdoor antenna.
* Connect cord securely.
¢ Unplug the power cord of the unit from the AC
wall outlet, then plug it in again.
¢ Unplug the power cord of the unit from the AC
wall outlet, then plug it in again.
¢ If static electricity is pronounced, it is
recommended that you operate the unit using the
remote controller,
connections correctly.
* Press the MUTING switch to cancel the MUTING
effect.
¢ Press the switch again to the OFF position.
¢ Press the SPEAKERS switch to turn ON.
¢ Raise volume.

¢ Connect wires to terminals securely.
* Connect input cords securely.

¢ Press the SURROUND MODE or REAR SPEAKERS
switch to correct position.

* Consult page 8 — 11, 32 — 36 and perform
connections correctly.
© Set correctly.
¢ Press the correct switch.
¢ Tune the station in correctly.
* Connect the antenna securely.
¢ Stretch both end of antenna taut and locate
direction yielding optimum reception.
¢ Replace accessory T-type antenna with outdoor
FM antenna.
* Change the AM loop antenna's direction and find
a position where reception is improved.
* Erect outdoor AM antenna or connect ground
wire.
* Stop using appliances generating noise or renove
them from vicinity of stereo equipment.
* Separate the loop antenna from the unit by sorme
distance.
