DOLBY SURROUND INPUT ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURE
DOLBY PRO LOGIC SURROUND (VSX-9500S)

Adjust MASTER VOLUME to a suitable listening
level.
Use SURROUND MODE switch to select DOLBY
PRO LOGIC SURROUND.
. Turn on front speakers, center speaker and rear
speakers.
. Select
a monaural source (such as AM radio) or
Dialogue portions of movies.
. Set balance and rear level to preset positions.
* Press BALANCE L and R switches together.
Press
CENTER
LEVEL
+
and
switches
together.
e Press
REAR
LEVEL
+
and
together.

. Select the CENTER
MODE
switch to the OFF
Position.
. Adjust rear panel SURROUND BALANCE (INPUT
BALANCE)
knob
to the position
that gives
minimum
volume
from
the
front
and
rear
speakers.
. Select CENTER MODE setting. (See page 6.)
. Turn on TEST TONE switch.
. Use the BALANCE
L, R switches, CENTER
LEVEL +,- switches, and the REAR LEVEL +,
— switches to adjust the volume levels of the
front left, center, front right, and rear speakers
until they are equal when
heard from
your
listening position in the room.
. Turn off TEST TONE switch when finished.
. Use INPUT SELECTOR
to select your desired
source.
. Adjust the desired rear sound level by the REAR
LEVEL +, - switches.

. Turn on front speakers and rear speakers.

BALANCE)

. Turn on front speakers. (Leave rear speakers on.)
. Use INPUT SELECTOR to select desired source.
. Use BALANCE L and R switches to adjust left-
to-right balance.
. Use REAR LEVEL
+ and - switches to adjust
front-to-rear volume balance.
If using the center
channel,
adjust
the
amplifier
connected to the CENTER AMP PRE OUT jack so that
the center speaker volume is nearly the same as the
left-right speaker volume.
