d. Starting the hedge trimmer
Hold the firmly the machine with both hands. Press the safety switch, Fig 5 and then the
trigger switch, Fig 6.
NOTE: both switches must be enabled in order to switch the motor on and keep it
running. The motor will stop it either switch is released.
Warning! Do not tamper or defeat the safety switch. Serious injuries could occur to
yourself or others if the safety devices do not work correctly.
e. Stopping the hedge trimmer
Release the safety switch and trigger switch. Remove the battery from the trimmer.
NOTE: when the motor is switched off, a few sparks may be seen near the ventilation
slots. This is perfectly normal and does not damage the tool in any manner.
f. Using the hedge trimmer
When cutting always hold the machine firmly with both hands.
NOTE: The battery is fitted with a protection system which prevents it from running
completely flat. The power tool will automatically switch off when the accumulator is flat.
If this happens, it must be promptly be recharged.
Immediately stop the trimmer if the blades jam.
Vertical trimming (FIG 7)
It is recommended to trim the two vertical slides of the hedge before trimming the top.
Proceed to cut by using curved movements from the bottom towards the top, keeping
the blade as far from the body as possible.
Horizontal trimming (FIG 8 and 9)
The best results will be obtained with the blade slightly inclined (5º-10º) in the direction
you are cutting, proceed with a curved movement, slowly and without interruptions,
especially in the case of very thick hedges.
Lubricating the blades (FIG 10)
If the trimming device overheats whilst working, it is necessary to lubricate the internal
surfaces of the blades.
Warning! This operation must be only performed when the blades have stopped, the
trimmer is switched off and the battery removed.
When you have finished your work:

Switch off the motor as indicated

Allow the motor to cool before storing in any enclosure
