FCC Registration and Compliance
Motorola STU 111/SECTEL 1000 and STU 111/SECTEL 2000 are
registered with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC)
and have been approved for commercial office use. Before
installation and operation, the following FCC rules and regulations
must be observed.
Equipment Installation:
Install the Motorola STU 111/SECTEL in accordance with the
instructions in Chapter 3, Installation.
Phone Company Notification:
Notify your local telephone company before you install the
STU 111/SECTEL. Give the phone company the following
information: the phone number of the line on which the STU Ill/
SECTEL will be installed, the Motorola model number located on
the bottom of the terminal's base, the FCC registration and ringer
equivalency numbers located on the bottom of the terminal's base.
Equipment Repairs:
If a problem develops with the terminal, immediately disconnect it
from the telephone line. Before the terminal is reconnected, it
must be serviced by a qualified service technician.
Telephone Company Rights:
Your local telephone company may temporarily disconnect your
phone service if they believe the STU 111/SECTEL to be the cause
of a problem. If this occurs, the telephone company must do the
following: promptly notify you of the action they are taking;
provide you with the opportunity to correct the problem; inform
you of your right to file a complaint with the FCC. If you receive
such a notice, contact your Motorola Customer Service
Representative immediately.
Electromagnetic Interference:
As with all telecommunications computing equipment, the
Motorola STU 111/SECTEL emits some electromagnetic energy.
Motorola has designed and tested the STU 111/SECTEL to ensure
that the electromagnetic energy emitted is within the required FCC
standards. However, placing the unit next to equipment receiving
and/or transmitting a radio or television signal may cause signal
interference.
