Connecting Peripheral Devices
Connecting a USB Device
NOTE: USB 3.2 port is backward compatible with USB 2.0 port. However, if
necessary, you can set the USB 3.2 port to be a USB 2.0 port in the BIOS Setup
Utility. Go to the utility, select Advanced Device Configuration System
USB Port, and change the setting to USB 2.0.
Your computer has one USB 3.2 Gen 2 port (Type-A) for connecting USB
devices, such as a digital camera, scanner, printer, and mouse.
Another USB Type-A port on your computer is called PowerShare USB. By
default, the PowerShare USB port functions as a standard USB 3.2 port. After
settings, it supports USB charging. (See the next section for information.)
Connecting a Device for USB Charging
Your computer has a PowerShare USB port (
). You can use this port to
charge mobile devices even when the computer is in power-off, sleep, or
hibernation state.
A connected device is charged by either external power (if the AC adapter is
connected) or by the computer's battery (if the AC adapter is not connected).
In the latter case, charging will stop when the battery level gets low (20%
capacity).
