Jump and Traffic and Weather Now
Jump
Pressing jump/twx ( ) will immediately tune to the previous channel to which you had been
listening.
Traffic and Weather Now
Pressing and holding jump/twx will tune to a Traffic and Weather Now
report for your city. If you had not previously selected the city for your
location, you will be prompted to select a city.
The Traffic and Weather Now icon indicates the availability of a Traffic
and Weather Now report. If the icon is gray, which may happen when you
first turn the Radio on, a report is not yet available. You can still press and
hold jump/twx so that the radio will begin playing the Traffic and Weather
Now report as soon as it becomes available. It's also possible that a partial
report is available in which case you can select to listen to the partial
report or wait for the whole report.
When a new report becomes available the icon will turn blue. You can
listen to the report at any time.
When you have listened to the report, or have partially listened to it, the
icon will turn white. When a new report becomes available, the icon will
turn blue again. It's also possible that while you are listening to a report, a
newer report becomes available, in which case you'll be advised and given
the opportunity to listen to the newer report. If the audible beep for Traffic
and Weather Now is turned on, you'll also hear a beep when a new report
becomes available while you are listening to a Traffic and Weather Now
report.
Pressing and holding jump/twx while a Traffic and Weather Now report
is pending will cancel the report. Pressing jump/twx after the Radio has
tuned to the report will return back to the channel to which you had been
listening immediately prior to the Traffic and Weather Now report.
If you do not want this feature, you can disable it. Refer to "To turn the FM Transmitter Off:" on page
82 for instructions.
Also refer to "Traffic/Weather" on page 76 for information on how to change cities, and to turn
the audible beep on or off.
