SportsFlash
A SportsFlash is a key play from your favorite teams when a game is being broadcast on SiriusXM.
When an exciting play happens, a SportsFlash alert will be displayed and you will have the
opportunity to tune to the SportsFlash and hear the play. When the SportsFlash is ended, you can
choose to return to the channel you had been listening to prior, or remain tuned to the game.
If your subscription package includes the play-by-play sports channels for your desired sports
leagues, you can set your Onyx Plus to alert you when a SportsFlash occurs for the teams you have
selected.
IMPORTANT! A subscription package which includes the play-by-play
sports channels of the desired leagues is required. For example, if you
selected an alert for an NFL team, and your subscription package did
not include NFL play-by-play sports channels, you cannot receive
SportsFlash alerts.
We recommend you do not select SportsFlash for teams in a league
which are not included in your subscription package. Check your
subscription package to confirm that it includes the play-by-play
sports channels for the desired leagues before selecting any teams for
SportsFlash in the leagues.
Up to five teams can be preselected for SportsFlash alerts by using Manage Teams in the menu
settings. In addition, when a Game Alert occurs for a game not preselected for SportsFlash, you will
be given an opportunity to temporarily add the game for SportsFlash alerts, or if five SportsFlash
alerts are currently active, replace an active SportsFlash or add it to a queue to become active
when one of the currently active games ends. Refer to "My Sports Zone" on page 62 for more
information on temporary SportsFlashes.
SportsFlash alerts are displayed visually and are accompanied by an optional audible alert beep,
except when you are not at the main display screen. If you are not at the main display screen, you
will hear the audible alert beep (provided it's turned on), but the visual alert will be delayed until you
have returned to the main display screen.
When a SportsFlash alert is displayed, you can press the Select button to tune to the SportsFlash,
press 1 to not receive any more SportsFlash alerts for that particular game, or press menu/alerts to
dismiss the alert (or do nothing and wait for the alert to time out).
Missed a SportsFlash alert? Alerts are saved in the My SportsFlash category for the duration of the
SportsFlash. You can listen to a SportsFlash by selecting the SportsFlash in My SportsFlash.
There may be occasions when several SportsFlash alerts will happen simultaneously or shortly after
one another. They will each be displayed in order after a selection has been made, or the alert has
timed out.
SportsFlash alerts can also be turned off if you do not wish to receive them. Turning the alerts off
preserves the teams you have selected for SportsFlash, and does not delete them. They are kept so
that when you turn SportsFlash on again, you will again receive SportsFlash alerts for your selected
teams.
