2.6 Controls The flow controls integral to the Parker Balston Nitrogen Generator are comprised of an operating pressure gauge, a flowmeter, a flow control valve, an outlet pressure gauge, and an outlet pressure regulator (see Figures 1 and 2). Proper use of these controls will assure the user of a 96% to 99.5% purity nitrogen outlet stream.

If a receiver tank is to be used, a back pressure regulator and a check valve should be installed between the Parker Balston Nitrogen Generator and the receiver tank (see figure 5). The Balston 72-460-V883 Back Pressure Controller contains both of these components and may be ordered as an accessory for the Nitrogen Generator.

  • Page 13: Evaluation

4.7 Evaluation Performance of the Parker Balston Nitrogen Generator is highly dependent on the temperature of the inlet air. The data on the flow rate presented in this bulletin is based on an inlet air temperature of 68°F (20°C). If the temperature of the inlet air at the point of use for this system varies from 68°F (20°C) by more than 5°F (3°C), the factory must be consulted for flow and...
