Troubleshooting

This troubleshooting guide contains solutions to problems which can be carried out by an ordinary
person. The device does not contain user-serviceable parts.
Unauthorized modifications to the device will render the warranty void. Such modifications may result in
injuries and material damage.
Refer servicing to instructed or skilled persons. Contact your Highlite International dealer in case the
solution is not described in the table.

Probable cause(s)
No power to the device
Internal fuse is blown
The factory settings of the device
are changed
The controller is not connected
The signal is reversed. The 3-pin
DMX OUT of the controller does not
match the DMX IN of the device
The controller is defective
Bad data link connection
The data link is not terminated with
a 120 Ω termination plug
Incorrect addressing
In case of a setup with multiple
devices, one of the devices is
defective and disturbs data
transmission on the link
The remote control is outside of the
range of the sensor of the infrared
port
The battery of the remote control is
depleted
LEDs are damaged
The power supply settings do not
match local AC voltage and
frequency
Solution
● Check if power is switched on and
cables are plugged in
● Disconnect the device and contact
your Highlite International dealer
● Reset the device's parameters to the
default factory settings. See 6.6.6.6.

● Connect the controller
● Install a phase-reversing cable
between the controller and the device
● Try using another controller
● Examine connections and cables.
Correct poor connections. Repair or
replace damaged cables
● Insert a termination plug in the DMX
OUT connector of the last device on
the link
● Check address settings and correct, if
necessary
● To find out the defective device,
bypass one device at a time until
normal operation is restored
● Walk closer to the device or change
the angle at which you point the
remote control to the device. See
6.9. Remote Control on page 30
● Change the battery of the remote
control
● Disconnect the device and contact
your Highlite International dealer
● Disconnect the device. Check the
settings and correct, if necessary
