LED lamp
When the on / off switch 10 is pushed, the LED lamp 5
is automatically switched on that allows to carry out
works in low light conditions
Rotation speed stabilization system
The stabilization system maintains the preset RPM
both at an idle speed and under load This allows for
the smooth advance of the power tool during opera-
tion
Safety clutch
The safety clutch protects the power tool against over-
load and damage in case of accessory sticking during
drilling
Function switch (see fig. 15)
Switching the operation modes shall be
carried out only in the off mode of the
tool's motor.
Function switch 7 is fitted with lock
button 6 that is used to fix the function
switch 7 in a set position. Rotate function
switch 7 while pressing button 6 in order
to set a desired operating mode.
Function switch 7 is designed for the switching the
following operation modes of the tool:
Drilling (set the function switch 7 in the position in-
dicated in figure 15.1) - non-impact drilling in wood,
synthetics, metal
Impact drilling (set the function switch 7 in the po-
sition indicated in figure 15.2) - impact drilling in ma-
sonry, concrete, natural stone
Chisel rotation (set switch 7 in the position shown on
figure 15.3) - this mode does not allow operating your
power tool, but allows setting the chisel in a comfort-
able position for chiseling works
Chiselling (set the function switch 7 in the position in-
dicated in figure 15.4) - chiselling ducts in masonry,
concrete, stone, removing ceramic tiles
In order to make switching between the
operation modes smoother, rotate slight-
ly chuck 1 (SDS PLUS) by hand.
Stepless speed adjustment
Speed is controlled from 0 to maximum by
pressing force of on / off switch 10 Weak
pressing results in low revolutions, which
enable a smooth power tool switch-on
Changing the rotational directions
Change the direction of rotation only
after a full stop of the motor, acting oth-
erwise may cause damage to the power
tool.
Rotation to the right (drilling, screwing in) - move
the rotational direction switch 11 to the right
Rotation to the left (unscrewing) - move the rota-
tional direction switch 11 to the left
Recommendations on the power tool op-
eration
Wear thick soft gloves when working to
reduce vibration impact on your body.
• Always use additional handle 4 when working, it will
ensure a better control of your power tool and reduce
recoil
• At impact drilling the result does not depend on the
pressing force you apply to your power tool, which is
due to the impact mechanism design This is why do
not exert excessive pressure on your power tool, as it
may result in borer seizing and motor overload
• In order to decrease dust production when drilling
holes in walls and ceilings, take actions indicated in
fig. 16.
Caution: drill wood and metals in the im-
pactless drilling operation mode only.
• Grease the drill bit regularly when drilling holes in
metals (except drilling non-ferrous metals and their al-
loys)
• When drilling hard metals, apply more force to the
power tool and lower the rotation speed
• When drilling large diameter holes in metal, first drill
a hole with a smaller diameter and ream it till the nec-
essary diameter (see. fig. 17.1).
• In order to avoid splitting of the surface at an exit
point of a drill bit when drilling holes in wood, follow the
instructions shown in figure 17.2.
• When drilling holes in glazed ceramic tiles, in order
to improve the drill centering accuracy and to save
the glaze from damage, apply adhesive tape to the
presumed hole center and drill after that (see fig. 18).
Caution: drill tiles in the impactless drilling opera-
tion mode only.
Power tool maintenance / preventive
measures
Before execution of any procedures, centre the re-
verse switch 11.
Battery maintenance instruction
• Charge timely before the battery 12 is completely
exhausted Stop operation in low power and charge it
immediately
• Do not overcharge when the battery 12 is full, other-
wise it will shorten the life time
• Charge battery 12 in the room temperature of 10°C
to 40°C (50°F to 104°F)
• Charge battery 12 every 6 months without operation
for a long time
• Replace worn out batteries in time Decline of pro-
duction or a significantly shorter runtime of the power
tool after charging indicates aging of the battery 12 and
