Installation and regulation of power tool
elements
Before execution of any procedures, centre the re-
verse switch 11.
Do not draw up the fastening elements
too tight to avoid damaging the thread.
Mounting / dismounting / setting-up of
some elements is the same for all power
tool models, in this case specific models
are not indicated in the illustration.
Additional handle (see fig. 1)
Always use the additional handle 4 when operating
Additional handle 4 may be positioned as deemed
comfortable by the user
• Loose additional handle 4 as shown in fig. 1.1.
• Place additional handle 4 in desired position (see
fig. 1.2).
• Tighten additional handle 4 as shown in fig. 1.3.
Depth stop (see fig. 2-3)
Use depth stop 8 to set a required drilling depth (see
fig. 2-3).
• Loose additional handle 4 as shown in fig. 2.1, 3.2.
• Move depth stop 8 to set a required drilling depth
(see fig. 2.2, 3.2).
• Tighten additional handle 4 as shown in fig. 2.3.
Mounting / replacement of accessories (see fig. 4)
Borers SDS PLUS are able, due to the de-
signed features of the chuck SDS PLUS,
to travel freely to some extent This causes
radial run-out at idle running that will be
automatically centred during the drilling It doesn't
make any impact on the precision of bore drilling
• Before installing the borer (chisel), clean it and lubri-
cate the shank with a thin layer of oil
• When mounting borer (chisel):
• insert (slightly twisting) the borer (chisel) into the
chuck 1 (SDS PLUS) against stop (see fig. 4.1);
• test the borer (chisel) fixing by trying to remove it
from chuck 1 (SDS PLUS)
• When removing borer (chisel):
• move fixing bush 3 back and hold it in this position
(see fig. 4.2);
• extract the borer (chisel) from the chuck 1
(SDS PLUS);
• release fixing bush 3
Gloves are to be used when removing the
borer (chisel) from chuck 1 (SDS PLUS),
as the borer (chisel) may be dangerously
hot after long using.
Replacing the dust protection casing (see fig. 5)
Dust protection casing 2 prevents the
dust from entering the SDS PLUS chuck.
Never use your power tool with a dam-
aged dust protection casing 2 - if dam-
aged, it must be immediately replaced. You can
either do it on your own, or contact the CROWN
service center.
• Move fixing bush 3 back and hold it in that position
(see fig. 5).
• Pull dust protection casing 2, and remove it
• Install a new dust protection casing 2
• Release fixing bush 3
Adapter for chuck SDS PLUS
• SDS PLUS adapter 18 and screw 19 enable using
gear rim chuck 17
• Never use SDS PLUS adapter 18 in the impact drill-
ing or chiselling operation modes
• Drills that don't belong to the SDS PLUS system are
not allowed for the impact drilling
Mounting / dismounting of the gear rim chuck (see
fig. 6-7)
• Screw the gear rim chuck 17 onto the SDS PLUS
adapter 18 and lock it in with the screw 19 (see
fig. 6).
• Install the SDS PLUS adapter 18 into the
chuck 1 (SDS PLUS), repeating the same steps as
when mounting the borer (chisel) see fig. 7.
• When dismantling, repeat the steps described
above in the reverse order
Attention: keep in mind that in the pro-
cess of mounting / dismounting of the
gear rim chuck 17 the screw 19 has a left-
hand thread.
Mounting / replacement of accessories
With long-term use the drill bit may be-
come very warm; use gloves to remove
it.
Gear rim chuck (see fig. 8)
• Release the cams grip with drill chuck key 20, then
rotate the quill of gear rim chuck 17 counter-clockwise
with your hand (see fig. 8) until the cams move apart
